R&D group in the field of blockchain and zero-knowledge
Blockchain Lab is a specialized workplace at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague focused on education and research in the field of blockchain technologies and zero knowledge. The Lab was founded in 2024 in response to the growing importance of decentralized technologies in both the academic and commercial spheres.
In the winter semester, we teach a course at FEE CTU that introduces students to blockchain technologies and their applications. The aim is to familiarize students with the principles of blockchain systems using practical examples. The theoretical part focuses on explaining basic concepts (blocks, transactions, smart contracts, wallets, etc.), the functioning of the Ethereum network, and selected applications such as decentralized exchanges, loans, and stablecoins.
The course is taught in Czech.
Smart contracts, zero knowledge, legal aspects of blockchain, participation in conferences, open source development, etc.
There are many opportunities to fulfill your potential here.
We meet regularly and share the latest findings. We collaborate with other European universities and experts from the field.
We participate in Czech and international conferences and hackathons. We organize meetups for students and the public.
The best students who participate in projects may also receive financial rewards.
One of the projects we are currently working on is the DEUSS platform for trading bonds on the blockchain, which we are developing in collaboration with Brno University of Technology, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, and fintech companies.
Specifically, we are involved in software analysis, the development of smart contracts, and their integration into the web environment.
Blockchain Lab is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague , one of the world's most prestigious universities. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is one of the oldest technical schools in Europe and is the highest-ranked electrical engineering and computer science faculty in the Czech Republic according to the international QS Ranking. Its Department of Computer Science, founded in 1964, was the first university department with a computer science program in the Czech Republic.
Cooperation between FEE CTU and external partners always takes an individualized form depending on the character of the projects and the needs of the partner organizations. For example, the DEUSS project, supported by the European Union, in which we are participating, is a multi-year research project covering the implementation of a prototype and a follow-up MVP.
We can also collaborate with external partners on the analysis and development of new blockchain protocols and cutting-edge technologies, the design of technological standards, the auditing of existing decentralized applications, consulting in the field of blockchain and zero-knowledge systems, educational programs for companies, and other forms of cooperation.
